Church Together

posted in: Notice 0

We are excited to launch our Church Together for the weekend of 21st-23rd January. Instead of meeting together in one place on the Sunday, we are meeting at various locations and times across the weekend. This may involve eating together, sharing communion around the table, enjoying a walk, getting into discussion and just enjoying time together. Here are the different options available to you, you can join more than one, but please book on by following the link to our calendar here. Once at the calendar, chose your event and click on it to book.

Sabbath meal, Friday 21st 6.30pm.

So what makes a Sabbath dinner different from any other dinners? Having meaningful, connecting conversations that are different from the every day; a time of prayer and communion; an evening of rest and reflection allowing us to create some space between the hectic work week and the beginning of the church together weekend.

Meeting at Anne’s house, 6.30pm for meal at 7pm. There will be a vegetarian curry served, you do not need to bring anything unless you have specific dietary requirements in which case please bring your own food which can be heated up on the Aga or in the microwave. Please park on The Hayes anywhere by the school.

Winterhead Farm with a French theme, Saturday 22nd 7pm.

A relaxed evening of food and fellowship with a distinctively French theme.  All are welcome, regardless of any level of interest in CVCC’s link with France.  During the evening, we will take the opportunity to discuss the link with France and a possible trip later in the year.  We may also try to zoom some of the St Malo team if they are available.  We hope that everyone may be able to contribute something to the proceedings (perhaps a French stick!) and will discuss this with those who sign up.

Church Together on zoom, Sunday 23rd 10.30am.

For those who prefer to meet on zoom we will be meeting with Colin at the usual time of 10.30am following the usual Sunday morning zoom link that can be found on the website. Please bring along a favourite poem (not obligatory!)

The Wonder of Life, Cheddar, Sunday 23rd 11am.

We will be meeting a the Cheddar Reservoir car park at 11am on Sunday morning. We will walk around the base of the reservoir then back to Carol and Phil’s for a simple lunch, share communion and chat.

Church Together in Draycott, Sunday 23rd 2pm.

We will be going for a walk up on Draycott Sleights at 2pm, meeting at the lay-by to park on the gliding club round (New Road). It is a fairly flat walk once on the hill and suitable for most fitness levels. We will walk over to the woods where there is a great rope swing for the children (and any big kids!) If the weather is suitable we will also bring some kites. We will move to Cheddar Garden Centre at 3pm for tea and cake.
